BANGALORE: A month after the city traffic police were trained to handle interceptors to monitor traffic movement, including drunken driving and overspeeding, two new interceptors have been brought to the city.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Seemanth Kumar Singh, said that the interceptors will now strengthen the hands of the city traffic police in strict enforcement.
"These vehicles have high-end gadgets to check speed of vehicles and videograph traffic offences. The pictures taken by the interceptors will hold as evidence in the court of law," he said.
Currently, one interceptor is patrolling the East division, and the other in the West division. The department will increase the number of interceptors in the next few weeks.
