Traffic police have suggested some alternative routes during peak hours...
The placing of pre-cast elements for the construction of the underpass at BDA junction has begun with six of them being placed on Monday night. The BBMP has decided to take up works which involves shifting of elements during the night. However preparing the ground for placing elements is done during the day. The work is expected to be completed by second week of April.
Traffic police have suggested some alternative routes during peak hours.
Travellers moving from Magadi Road, Rajajinagar, Mahalakshmi layout, Yeshwanthpur, Sanjaynagar, RT Nagar, Hebbal, Yelahanka to central area are to take Swastik Junction - Nehru Circle - R P Road Junction turn left to T Chowdaiah Road junction (Sankey Road) - turn right - Windsor Manor junction - High Ground junction - LRDE junction - Basaveshwara Circle or Rajbhavan junction and on to Eastern corridor With this they can avoid Shivananda Circle and Basaveshwara Circle.
The evening peak hour traffic moving from Halsuru, Indiranagar, HAL Airport, Old Madras Road, Madiwala, Hosur Road, either to central area or towards Magadi Road, Rajajinagar, Mahalakshmi layout, Yeshwanthpur, Sanjaynagar, Hebbal and Yelahanka can take Trinity Circle - Begam Mahal Circle - Kensington Road - St John’s Church Road, Thomas Cafe Circle - Coles Park junction - Haines Circle - Millers Road - Nandidurga road junction - Jayamahal Road and reach Mekhri Circle.
Traffic from Windsor Manor junction going towards Mekhri Circle via Palace Cross can turn left at R P Road junction - turn right at 7th cross Kumara Park - Serpentine Road join V S Raju Road and continue towards Mekhri Circle.
Another alternative is that travellers can turn left at BDA junction - turn right BDA cross - again turn right on to V S Raju Road - Palace Cross junction and turn left towards Mekhri Circle.
