Underpass construction hits traffic

Underpass construction hits traffic

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Traffic was thrown out of gear in the central parts of the city on the first day after traffic diversions were put in place in view of the construction of the underpass at BDA Junction.

Praveen Sood, Additional Commissioner (Traffic), told The Hindu that movement of heavy vehicles had been diverted near the BDA Junction. “However, the space allowed for other vehicles to go straight towards Mekhri Circle is narrow. There is space only for one vehicle, which complicated matters during the peak evening hours. Due to this, a lot of traffic jams were reported in the surrounding areas,” he said.
