Bangalore: “Our roads would be better if each one of us observed traffic rules and our city would look better if we did not litter and behaved responsibly…”
This was the message carried by many residents of Indiranagar when they took out a “leadership march” to create awareness about building “a better Bangalore”.
Over 200 participants of different age groups took to the streets of Indiranagar holding placards carrying messages on keeping the city clean, not violating traffic rules, among others.
Employees of the software company, Sasken, along with their chairman, Rajeev Modi, took part in the march and distributed pamphlets requesting vehicle users to adhere to traffic norms.
Sangeeth Verghese, founder director of LeadCap, which organised the march, said: “We can build a better Bangalore of our dreams if each one of us is willing to stand up and do our bit than make excuses and blame others such as politicians and bureaucrats.”
LeadCap has been organising such programmes in various localities of the city persuading citizens to do their bit to carry things forward.

I like this idea. A simple thing like follwing the 'yield' concept in traffic helps a lot. Most drivers think that by blocking other drivers they get to their destination faster. It is just not true. Maintaining distance and following the concept of live-and let-live helps traffic move faster.
If LeadCap has programs that they would like to start to address day-to-day issues in Bangalore and elsewhere, I am sure there are many who would like to support them in their noble cause.
