Bangalore: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is conducting a feasibility study to construct the 64-km BDA Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) connecting Hosur Road and Nelamangala.
Union minister of state for road transport and highways K H Muniyappa told reporters here on Saturday that a detailed project report (DPR) for the PRR would be ready in the next few months.
The BDA has also handed over the new expressway project to the NHAI. The feasibility study report for this would be conducted by the state government.
On providing connectivity to Bengaluru International Airport through NH7, Muniyappa said the road leading to the airport has been well laid except for the few patches linking the stretch. “According to the agreement, land acquisition process has been given to the state government. DCs are responsible for the negotiating the deal with land owners during land acquisition process,’’ he said.
He also said a rail overbridge (ROB) near the new airport would be completed in the next six months. Works for this project was stalled due to litigation involving authorities and land owners.
