Jayanagar residents face power problems

Jayanagar residents face power problems
Bangalore, DHNS:
Residents of Jayanagar IV, IV T and V Blocks and parts of J P Nagar had a harrowing time on Saturday - courtesy BESCOM apathy.

Residents called up Deccan Herald and narrated their woes.

They said, complaints made to jurisdictional offices went in vain as either there was no response, or the cells were switched off.

There was a power cut between 9 am to 6 pm for maintenance works, but it was not restored even by 9 pm.
Harish D Ram, a resident of Jayanagar 9th main, said, “The power was switched off in the morning, was not restored by late evening. The call made to the jurisdiction office (2653 2122) didn’t help either.

A message that the number is out of order was heard. What should we do? Suffer without power at whose cost? Isn’t anybody responsible” he asked.

Mukund N from Jayanagar IV ‘T’ block said, “If BESCOM says it will shut down power from 9 am to 6 pm, it should be restored later.”

Another resident Srinivasan of JP Nagar, added that calls made to BESCOM on 2649 4383 and JE (Junior Engineer) on 94486 71227 was switched off,” he said.

Transformer trips
When questioned, BESCOM engineers at the Central Complaints Division said, a major trip at the transformer feeder station (South) was reason for the long power shut down.

They said engineers were working to restore it at 10 pm on Saturday. “Power supply will be normal on Sunday,” they said.
