Is the state police hand-in-glove with the KRV? The circular issued by state ADGP (law and order) Shankar Bidari, and the city police’s inaction over Thursday’s violence almost justifies the speculation. The ADGP has taken all district SPs and commissioners of Mysore and Hubli to task for dealing with KRV members with soft hands.
The ADGP has instructed unit officers to act against members of KRV and other organisations. The circular said under no circumstances should an organisation be permitted to take law into its own hands and indulge in violent acts, resulting in destruction of property and intimidation of public servants.
“Despite clear instructions issued on January 31, it’s observed that they have not been implemented properly... An impression is gaining ground that office-bearers of KRV or miscreants working in the name of KRV are beyond the law of the land. If this situation continues, an impression will be created that the law and order in the state has collapsed,’’ the circular said.
