WHAT THEY FEEL...?
Going by BBMP's handbook on Sakrama, the total regularisation fee for one acre of land is close to Rs 54 lakh whereas the compensation given by the government for acquisitions done in Marathahalli area two-three years ago is just Rs 12 lakh per acre..
But now the government is asking to pay an exorbitant amount to get the property regularised. How can anybody justify this injustice?
Venkatesh Reddy, Kundanahalli Gate
In 1996-97, the State Government asked the property owners to regularise their unauthorised properties. Many paid the fee. But based on a court order, the government withdrew the scheme. But till now the government has not refunded the money. How will I know this Sakrama 2007 will not see the same fate? On what confidence should we pay the regularisation fee?
Jose Simon, Whitefield
We bought a revenue site as we were not able to afford a BDA site. But I think by the total sum I have to pay to get my property regularised and betterment charges, I would have bought a BDA site.
Mrs Baindur, Marathahalli
As per the rule only up to 50 per cent of deviations is considered for regularisation. But it is unfair to ask the public whose property crossed the limit by demolishing. How can we demolish that we constructed spending too much money?
Kishor, Talakaveri Layout, Basavanagar
The handbook brought out by the Palike is not clear. It is difficult to follow and calculate the extent of violation by following the instructions given in the book.
Prasad Rao, Kasavanahalli
I own a plot in Ramamurthynagar. I have khata for my property, receipt for paying betterment charges. Even then the Palike is asking to get it regularised. Earlier our area was in Mahadevapura CMC. We never knew that we had to take approval for our layouts from BDA.
