BANGALORE: THE main events of the fifth edition of Bengalooru Habba will kick off from this Sunday onwards.

The Habba includes swim meet, golf tournament, visual arts, Hindustani classical music, Carnatic classical music, jazz music festival, classical dance, English and Kannada theatre, and other cultural events to be held in various parts of the city.

The Bengalooru Habba will be officially inaugurated on December 2, Sunday, at Ravindra Kalakshetra by Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Tourism Department Secretary I M Vittalamurthy said here on Saturday.

He added that the Tourism Department and Kannada and Culture Department has henceforth zeroed in one the first Sunday of every December each year as the day for the inauguration of Bengalooru Habba.

i wish the event list is posted either on net or published in the newspapers. Ardent lovers of art like us tend to miss our favourite artists because of lack of information regarding the schedule!

AGREED! This *must* change if Bangalore wishes to be a cultural hub. Is there a one-stop site or publication that lists the "where" and "when" of cultural activities? I'll even take two or three stops - as long as I have a day's notice!
