Bangalore: It is only going to get chillier in the days to come. Bangalore is going to experience extreme cold conditions which is expected to reach its peak mid-January.
“Winter in parts of south interior Karnataka including Bangalore, begins in December and continues till February 15. In January, temperatures can fall as low as 10 degrees Celsius in some parts of southern Karnataka. The next two weeks will be very cold’’ said a weather department officer.
“There was inadequate rainfall during October and November in southern parts of the state. The onset of winter was early this year, resulting in a decrease in soil moisture.”
The official attributed the chill in Bangalore to cold breeze from Bay of Bengal and northern India drifting towards Karnataka.
