The City will reverberate with the strains of a wide variety of musical styles over 10 days during the Bangalore Habba 2007


The Rock Festival will be held on December 5 and 6 from 7 pm onwards at Palace Grounds, Mekhri Circle entrance; Slain (Mumbai), Tidal Wave (Goa), Galeej Gurus (Bangalore) will perform on December 5. Synapse (Bangalore), Lounge Piranha (Bangalore) and Karma 6 (Mumbai) will perform on December 6.

For jazz enthusiasts

The Jazz Musical Festival will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Alliance Francaise, Thimmaiah Road from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The following is the schedule of concert: Suburban Jazz Ensemble (Dec 2), Global Unity (Dec 3), Gerard Machado (Dec 4), Brown Indian Band (Dec 5) and Jazz Junction (Dec 6).

Devotional music, folk music and sugama sangeeth will be held from December 2 to 6 from 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the following places: Koramangala (Lakshmi Devi Park), Indiranagar (3rd Cross Park), Frazer Town (Coles Park), Sadashivanagar (Sankey Road), Wilson Garden, BDA complexes at Jayanagar, Koramangala, RT Nagar and HSR Layout.

Ambedkar Bhavan on Millers Road will host Hindustani classical music from Dec 2 to 6 from 6 pm to 9 pm: Sunanda Sharma — vocal, Shahid Parvez Khan — Sitar (Dec 2), Shashwati Mandal Paul — vocal, Rupak Kulkarni — flute (Dec 3), Venkatesh Kumar — vocal, Rahul Sharma — santoor (Dec 4), Madhyalaya — percussion ensemble, Ashwini Bhide Deshpande - vocal (Dec 5), Ganapathi Bhat — vocal, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt — Mohan Veena (Dec 6).
