Habba ends on high note
DH News Service,Bangalore:
After ten days of non-stop entertainment, curtains came down on ‘Bengalooru Habba’ on Sunday, where people were treated to a host of cultural events ranging from Carnatic music to rock and jazz, from dollu kunita to fashion shows.
A large audience comprising all ages was in full strength at the Palace Grounds to witness the grand finale of the fifth edition of the Habba. To start off, the crowds were enthralled by a Hindustani flute and Carnatic saxophone jugalbandi by Ronu Majumdar and Kadri Gopalnath.
This was followed by a song and dance extravaganza by singer Sukhwinder Singh of Chaiya Chaiya fame, who treated the audience with his hit numbers from Chak de India, Om Shanti Om, Dil Se and many more.
A Bollywood night was also part of the fair, where the song-and-dance routine was in full swing. The large crowd, braving a cold wintry evening, stayed back at the venue till late night to be enthralled for one last time before the event returns next year where they can witness dance and music, folk dance and music, theatre, popular performing and visual arts, crafts and sports- all in one event. Various artists who performed during the ten-day-long event were also felicitated on the occasion.
