The cricket fever added to weekend traffic rush, which is a regular affair . The result being chock-a-block roads. It can’t get worse than this!

This was the situation on M G Road, Cubbon Road, Dickinson Road and St John’s Road as the crowd spilled over onto the roads, making thoroughfares in the vicinity of M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the venue of the five-day India-Pakistan cricket test match, clogged with bumper-to- bumper crawl for more than three hours.

A posse of cops and traffic wardens tried their level best to bring order on the road but in vain.

Hanumantharayappa, head constable manning the junction at Commercial Street said the cricket fever and the Saturday crowd were the source of traffic snarls.

“It is always as bad as today but the cricket test has only added on to the traffic menace. It is difficult to man busy junctions in situations like these even with a posse of policemen” he added.
