Associations urge HC to postpone scheme
Bangalore, dhns:
The Confederation of Residents Welfare Associations of Mahadevapura Zone President S S Prasad said that minimum regularisation fee should be fixed at a level affordable by common people.

The Confederation of Residents’ Welfare Associations of Mahadevapura Zone have sought deferring of Sakrama scheme till the elected government takes charge in the State. The association has urged the High Court to take a decision in favour of the common people, who are aggrieved of the “unscientifically” framed Sakrama scheme.

Confederation President S S Prasad said that minimum regularisation fee should be fixed at a level affordable by common people. Also, all unauthorised buildings constructed till date should be regularised completely without providing any scope for middlemen. He also said that facility for paying in installments should be allowed.

Mr Prasad pointed out that owners of properties in areas, which were earlier under CMC, TMC and Gram Panchayat limits, have paid betterment charges to those local bodies and have got their plans approved. Hence, they should be exempted from paying development fee for regularisation, he said.

Also, he demanded that poor people residing in 30 square metres or less area in villages should be exempted.
