BANGALORE: State IT Secretary MN Vidyashankar said that the country will have its largest tech-park, the ‘Knowledge City’, in over 10,000 acres in Bangalore The tech-park will have direct connectivity with the new international airport and will house nearly 14 SEZs, he said.
He was speaking at the three- day Embedded Systems Conference(ESC) India, organised by CMP India, a global business information company here on Thursday.
President of Indian Semiconductor Association Poornima Shenoy said that the Embedded systems, design, and development have tremendous potential for India in the knowledge sector.
According to the ISAFrost and Sullivan report, 81 percent of the jobs in semiconductor and electronics chip design are in Embedded space. It is set to become 86 percent by 2015. The Indian semiconductor design industry is USD 4.6 billion in size of which embedded software is USD 3.7 billion.
According to the Indian Semiconductor Association, the semiconductor sales in India are expected to grow from $2.82 billion in 2005 to $36.3 billion by 2015.
The exhibition showcases the industry’s most advanced technologies. It includes product demos and new technologies on show.
