Project Update: BETL

SO FAR SO GOOD

Bangalore: There could be relief soon at two major junctions on Hosur Road — the Kudlu and Singasandra junctions. Block pushing for the underpasses at these junctions is expected to be completed by the end of this month. With that, the necessary tunnel would be created. The finishing work and the staircase work would follow. An official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said the underpass work is ahead of schedule. The expressway stretch will eventually have four underpasses, through which both vehicles and people can move without disrupting traffic on the main road.
Assembly of all the three gantries has started. The gantries are to be used to place the expressway superstructure (the pre-cast concrete carriageway) on to the piers. The erection of the first superstructure is expected by end of July. Casting of segments is going on in the casting yards.
The NHAI has indicated it may be too late to accommodate the IT sector’s recent demand to link the Hosur Road expressway to the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) being built by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE).
