BANGALORE: The construction of the Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli is on schedule and it will be inaugurated on April 2, 2008. As per the agreement signed with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) Airport will be closed from April 2 next.

Speaking to presspersons after a meeting with officials here on Wednesday, Minister for Infrastructure and Tourism B. Sriramulu said the Government has decided to adhere to the agreement signed with BIAL and HAL Airport would not operate after the inauguration of the International Airport at Devanahalli.

"The agreement signed with BIAL will be adhered to," he said.
