It’s a welcome move

It’s a welcome move
New Indian Express

The marsh crocodile enclosure in Bannerghatta Biological Park will be named after Steve Irwin, for his contributions in the field of crocodile conservation. This crocodile enclosure will be created close to natural conditions.

‘‘Steve Irwin was a great man and a great conversationalist. He had worked closely with animals and nature. He is the role model for many young conservationalists and naming an enclosure of reptiles is one of the small ways of appreciating his works and thanking him. He has been the guiding man to many, enhancing people’s knowledge about the wild. In whatever small manner people want to remember him should be appreciated and supported.

Whether he contributed to the development of the wild in India or not is not an issue. He has contributed for the field and for conservation of reptiles, that should be remembered. We should not forget the knowledge spread by him.’’
