BANGALORE: Deputy conservator of Forests Udupudi Krishna on Tuesday held talks with the contractor of the Sanjaynagar park, Shamanna on steps towards rejuvenating the acre-wide Sanjaynagar park. This website's newspaper had published a report on Tuesday, after residents complained on the bad state of park which was constructed at a cost of Rs 45 lakh. The park which has a huge lawn of Bermuda grass has wilted due to lack of water, as the borewell installed to water the lawn has completely dried up. Krishna told this website's newspaper that he had issued instructions to mow the lawn, so the dry part of the grass would be removed, leaving the roots to be revived. He also said that several hardy plants would be planted so that they would retain water in the soil. “We will get the grass back in a week’s time. We have also identified a couple of spots for digging a borewell. Even if it is far from the park, we will ensure that a pipeline is laid, so that the park will receive a continuous supply of water.”
