A swanky look on cards

A swanky look on cards

Bangalore: The age-old Jayanagar IV Block bus stand, a famous landmark in Bangalore South, will undergo a facelift and is up for modernisation. BMTC and traffic police have announced some changes.
Buses will not operate from this
bus stop till the modernisation work is completed. The bus stop has been shifted temporarily to 9th Main from RV Dental College to 30th Cross.
Buses will stop on both sides of 9th Main. To accommodate the temporary bus stop on the busy 9th Main, police have banned parking on this road between 33rd Cross and 30th Cross. To facilitate easy movement of buses, movement of other vehicles on 33rd Cross (east to west) and between 11th Main junction and 9th Main has been banned.
The present one-way rule on 33rd Cross has been reversed to enable easier movement of vehicles to the temporary bus stop.
Work on the modern traffic transit management centre at the existing Jayanagar IV Block bus stand has commenced. The project estimated to cost Rs 9 crore has been taken up under the JNURM scheme. The bus stand-cum-parking complex will have better passenger amenities including park and ride facility for personalised transport users. The BMTC is expected to complete the project in 18 months.
NOTE THIS
The BMTC has made temporary changes in bus services.
For buses going towards Kempe Gowda bus station, KR Market and Shivajinagar, bus stops have been provided adjacent to the Jain temple on 9th Main Road.
For buses plying towards Jayanagar 5th Block, JP Nagar 6th Phase, Jambusavari Dinne, Banashankari, Kumaraswamy Layout and towards Padmanabhanagar, bus stops have been provided adjacent to Idgah Maidan on the 9th Main Road.
