The final notification on Greater Bangalore will be issued in about 15 days, Bangalore Urban District Incharge Minister R Ashok said on Wednesday.


The final notification on Greater Bangalore will be issued in about 15 days, Bangalore Urban District Incharge Minister R Ashok said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting works on a few infrastructure projects in BMP West Zone, the minister noted that all administrative processes with respect to Greater Bangalore have progressed satisfactorily and the priority is to protect all vacant government land.

“Orders have been issued to undertake chain-link fencing of all vacant government properties. Demolitions will be undertaken wherever encroachments are found,” the minister said and noted that the available government properties can be developed as lung spaces in Greater Bangalore and that civic necessities like hospitals, police stations and water supply facilities are also planned to be located in these properties.”

The entire Greater Bangalore process may be completed in the next few months and elections may be held by May, he said.
