BANGALORE: If the increasing pollution in Bangalore is worrying you, here is a solution. The GAIL India Ltd will soon bring the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to Bangalore.

Gail India Ltd Managing Director Mohan R Haldinkar, told this website's newspaper that Bangalore is among 23 other Indian metros which have been identified to implement CNG mode of transport to minimise the pollution.

“We will bring CNG, as an when it is made available to us. The CNG to Bangalore can be brought from three sources including Kakinada, Dabhol and Kochi,” he said.

“The GAIL India Ltd will also coordinate with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), to provide Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Bangalore,” Hingnikar said.

When asked about the feasibility of CNG, he said: “It is more cheaper than liquid gas. The quality of CNG is better, thus it helps in reducing the pollution level.”
