BANGALORE: Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) has promised to complete the first phase of the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project in two months, if the government handed over the required lands.
NICE Managing Director Ashok Kheny told this website’s newspaper that the government was yet to allot over 13,000 acres for the project.
“It has only handed over around 7,000 acres of the total requirement of 20,193 acres.”
He alleged that the government was yet to release land for completion of the first phase comprising 41 km of peripheral ring road, 9 km of link road, 12 km of expressway and a township.
The Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor had continued the project despite the State government filing a review petition in the Supreme Court on April 20.
“We never stopped work on the project. Nearly 95 per cent of the project has been completed,” he said.
“With the completion of the first phase, particularly the peripheral ring road linking the Electronics City would help to decongest the traffic within the City limits,” he opined.
Kheny also appealed to all political parties, including the JD(S) to extend support for the completion of project at the earliest.
