BANGALORE: A large number of people were stranded at the BMTC and KSRTC bus stops in the city for several hours on Sunday as the state transport corporations had diverted over 2,700 buses for Congress rally held in the City.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation had diverted as many as 700 buses, while Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation had diverted 1,500 buses for the rally. Besides, 300 buses from the North East Road Transport Corporation (NERTC) and 200 buses from the North West Road Transport Corporation (NWRTC) were provided for the rally.

With such large number of buses diverted for the rally, the bus services all over the city and the state was affected badly. The KSRTC General Manager Rajkumar, however, told this website’s newspaper that passengers were not affected.

BMTC Official Dastagir Sheriff said that the bus services were not affected as they had provided non-peak hour buses for the rally.
