BANGALORE: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will shortly shift its services to Mysore to the bus terminal near Guddadahalli on Mysore Road.

KSRTC built the terminal to decongest the Kempe Gowda Bus Station at Majestic. However, Bangalore-bound buses from Mysore still reach Majestic, while Mysore-bound buses leave from the new terminal.

The new terminal could not be exploited to the fullest capacity due to logistic reasons, said Bhaskar Rao, Director (Security and Vigilance). Now that the shifting of diesel dispensing units and other required infrastructure for a depot were nearing completion, all Mysore-bound buses would be operated from the new terminal, he told The Hindu.

The corporation operates 540 schedules from Bangalore in the Mysore sector, including inter-State services towards Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The numbers would be increased soon to cater to the growing demand. Shifting of the operation, Mr. Rao said, would decongest roads in the central business district.
