Leaders’ opinions: How will Greater Bangalore benefit people?

Leaders’ opinions: How will Greater Bangalore benefit people?
Mumtaz Begum, Mayor: Concept-wise, having an unified Greater Bangalore is a good idea. However, implementation-wise, it will be challenging. It is difficult to administer 100 wards, 150 wards will be more problematic.

Prema Cariappa, former Mayor and Rajya Sabha MP: The Greater Bangalore plan will be beneficial for the people of Bangalore. There will be uniformity in development of the region and administration will be seamless.

R Ashok, Bangalore District in-charge Minister: The public has opted for a unified Bangalore. We cannot break brand Bangalore and call it Varthur or Bommanahalli. People don’t want multiple identities for Bangalore.

Tejaswini Ramesh, Congress MP: People have an emotional attachment to Kempegowda’s Bangalore. We should strengthen it. Development should be uniform irrespective of whether the City comes under BMP, CMCs or the GPs.
