BANGALORE: The police department and the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike have chalked out a plan based on the B-Track project launched by Chief Minister H D Kumarasway, to improve city traffic.
Joint commissioner of Transport M D Suleman said, “Managing traffic and transportation problems is the responsibility of the government and the police officials.”
Speaking at a meeting of police officers and residents, organised by the Shanthinagar Residents Association and Committee of Hosts on Sunday, he said, “Increasing traffic congestion, especially in residential areas, is the biggest hurdle we are facing. This must be tackled soon or it will get out of hand,” he added.
Assistant commissioner of police, Ulsoorgate Sub-Division B B Askok Kumar, said the police department is striving to ensure security.
Memeber of Karnataka Bar Council Muniyappaa M appealed to the people to join the police in warding off crime.
”People must lodge complaints and help the police. It is the duty of both police and the citizens to maintain law and order in the city,” he added.
