Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner K Jairaj has ordered the speeding up of the reconstruction and renovation work of Vasanthnagar and Russel markets. After an inspection, the Commissioner asked for completion of work at Vasanthnagar market before nine months and at Russel market by six months, a release said. Mayor Mumtaz Begum was also present on the occasion. In Shivajinagar area, a fine of Rs 7,000 was slapped on two parties for stock building materials on the road and dumping of debris.
