Private land owners whose land has been acquired by the Karnataka government for the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project worth Rs 2,250 crore have filed a review petition in the Supreme Court urging it to review its judgement dated April 20, 2006.

The Supreme Court had dismissed the petitions of both the Karnataka government and the land owners.

In his plea, petitioner Kari Hanumaiah has alleged that the land acquired by the government was in excess of the required 5,119 acres and 37 guntas specified for the project. The actual land acquired was 6,999 acres.

According to the petitioners, their land was also far away from the vicinity of the project.

The petitioners have prayed to the court for reviewing its judgement with regard to the private land owners and set aside the acquisition of their agricultural land.

Nine townships are to be developed along the Bangalore-Mysore express highway.
