The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike on Wednesday filed an action taken report before the Karnataka High Court, on the demolition drive against buildings violating by-laws and zonal norms in Koramangala area.
According to BMP Legal Department sources, seven buildings have been demolished so far. As many as 29 properties are on the priority list for demolition. The BMP has served 80 notices on building violators. As many as 2,250 buildings have been inspected for deviation. The case is likely to come up for hearing on Thursday before a division bench.
Bail in housing case
The High Court on Wednesday granted bail to the office bearers of the Venkateshwara Home Building Co-operative Society, V Krishnappa and others, charged with misappropriation of funds of the Society.
The bailed, employees of Aeronautical Development Authority, Bangalore had collected Rs 3.39 crore towards housing sites for the members of the Society. They had purchased land for sites in Hennur for the Society, which had been approved by the Bangalore Development Authority.
Instead of allotting the sites to the members, they sold the sites to private individuals, who were not members of the Society. The Magistrate court had rejected bail to the accused.
Judge’s discharge
The High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the government on a petition filed by Sessions Judge Milind Dange.
The petitioner contended that on October 16, 2000 the government called for applications for posts of district judges. On May 4, 2002 the government passed an order appointing the petitioner as Second Additional District Judge, Kolar and later as First Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bangalore. On August 25, 2005 the government discharged him from the service. On August 29, 2005 the HC ordered to get himself relieved.
