Sea change for Nagawara lake

Bangalore: Nagawara lake will now offer a wide variety of boating and leisure options. The lake has been converted into the city’s first and only boating and leisure park that offers a variety of entertainment activities.

What does the leisure park set up at a cost of Rs 10 crore have on offer? Bumper boats for the family; two seater to 15-seater boats for boat rides, floating coffee shop for the family and friends, jet skiing with water-skiing devices, speedboat, floating restaurants, boat restaurants, wave pool, bumper boating, leisure boating, jet skies boating and fountains.

Children can look forward to rotating carousel, vortex, a variety of swings, the Spanish bull fight with life-like simulated and inflatable bulls and children’s pool. The lake has been taken on a lease for 15 years and the project has come through a tender called by the state government. The lake was in a very bad shape and was maintained by the forest department.

There are plans for ecofriendly measures like developing 20,000 plants of different species.

The facility was inaugurated by opposition leader N Dharam Singh and health minister R Ashok on Sunday.
