Mall Culture adds to traffic woes

The commercial space rented out by Karnataka State Transport Corporation at Mysore Satellite Bus Stand has added more woes to the already jammed Mysore road. Police officials and even KSRTC officials feel that construction of flyover at Bapujinagar Junction will be the answer to the problems.

The Mysore Road (between Sirsi Circle and R V College of Engineering) is one of the busiest roads in the City. The main cause for the traffic jam is the presence of Gali Anjaneya Temple filled with devotees on one side and on the other buses entering Mysore Road from Mysore Satellite Bus Stand..

Now, the Big Bazar which has opened its new branch at the Mysore Satellite Bus Stand building has also started to contribute its share to the jam.

A police official who was on duty here said that the main reason for the jam is curiosity of people who wants to have a glimpse of mall culture.

This Sunday being Amavasya, a huge crowd of devotees had assembled at the Gali Anjaneya Temple to offer special pooja. After pooja, majority of them assembled in front of Satellite Bus Stand to see the n new complex. Because of this, traffic went haywire at Bapujinagar junction.

Shakuntalamma, who had come to Gali Anjaneya Temple along with five of her family member said that she was trying to have a glimpse of Citys mall culture.
