BANGALORE: The Karnataka Cabinet scheduled to meet on Tuesday (June 13), will in all probability, arrive at a final decision on bringing a legislation to take possession of nearly 2400 acres of excess land acquired in the name of executing the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway project by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor enterpruses (NICE).

Sources in the state secretariat told this website’s newspaper that under no circumstances the NICE project would be taken over by the government instead the excess land would be taken over and restored to the farmers.

The cabinet will discuss the pros and cons of the proposed legislation especially in the wake of several judicial pronouncement regarding the project.

The chief minister H D Kumaraswamy is scheduled to return to the city from his tour of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday (June 12) and hold the cabinet meet on the following day.

The Cabinet has got to take a decision on the issue as the proposed legislation has been planned to introduce in the continued legislature session starting from June 19.
