The underpass, at the intersection of Magadi Road
and Chord Road junction, will ease the traffic vol ume, which is more than 13,000 PCUs (passenger car units) at present. The junction that connects the arterial roads, national highways and st highWays had been witnessing frequent traffic bottlenecks.
The Rs 31.86 crore project has been entrusted to East Coast Constructions and Industries Ltd., on tender basis and will be completed with in months as per schedule.

lGradients along Vijayanagar and Yeshwanthpur Despite the formation of an Outer Ring Road (ORR) of about 67 km by the BDA during 2000, the intersection of ORR and Banaswadi-Ramamurthy Nagar Road that connects national highways had been experiencing traffic congestion.
As per recent survey, the intensity of traffic dur ing peak hours here is 6,850 PCUs per hour. In order to ease traffic congestion and achieve uninterrupted flow of traffic along the ORR, BDA has taken up construction of an underpass along ORR at this intersection at a contract value of Rs 1746.24 lakh.
The work has been awarded to Nagarguna Construction Company Limited and is targeted to be completed within 12 months.

l3-lane bidirectional traffic with a covered portion of 60 mtrs in length.

lRamps towards K R Puram and Hebbal The congested casualty block at the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, near Shivajinagar Bus Station, has got a facelift. The 600-bedded hospital had been finding it difficult to cater diverse needs of the patients, whose numbers were on the rise in the recent years.
BDA has constructed the new casualty block at a cost of Rs 9.80 crore which consists of lower ground floor, ground floor and two upper floors. The work was executed by East Cost construction and Industries Limited.

Though construction of the complex was completed in April 2004, it had not been officially inaugurated so fa The complex, with a built up area of 4,200 sq mtrs has 15 shops in the ground floor and shops in the first floor. Some of the shops have already been occupied including the BangaloreOne centre.

BDA will start dispatching the allotment letters to shortlisted applicants at the Arkavathi layout from June 19. A senior BDA official told BVT that the allotment letters were ready and it would be issued from next Monday. Refusing to reveal the number of allotments that would be made, the official said, "We will decide on the number of allottees on June 16."
