The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) retrieved property worth Rs one crore at RMV II stage on Monday, by demolishing the illegal building on the plot. A site measuring 3000 sq ft on Survey no. 1/2 of Lottegollahally was encroached upon by a land grabber named Devappa, who had built a concrete structure with pillars.

In a similar operation, the BDA demolition squad recovered property worth Rs 2.20 crore in HRBR III block.

The squad demolished sheds on site no. 1M-504 in Survey no. 7 of Kacharakanahally. The BDA claimed the 5500 sq ft of land with the help of the police.

Defaulters pulled up

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) imposed a fine of Rs 38,500 against 21 building owners in Jayanagar sub division, over the last two weeks. The building owners were penalised for causing damage to footpaths by not removing debris. Meanwhile, engineers in Basavangudi division, fined seven building owners and collected Rs 5,000 for not clearing debris from the footpath.
