BANGALORE: Restoration of lakes will be entrusted to the BDA and the municipalities, Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy announced on Tuesday.

He expressed dissatisfaction over the style of functioning of the Lake Development Authority (LDA) and said he would take away restoration from them.

The CM also said that while handing over works to the BDA and other agencies, the Government would set deadlines Sources said the LDA had not been able to do justice to its work as it was functioning with just five officers and had little powers.
