All projects will be completed on schedule, promises M.K. Shankarlinge Gowda

BANGALORE: All projects will be completed on schedule, promised M.K. Shankarlinge Gowda, who took charge as the new Commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority.

The former Secretary of Information and Biotechnology took charge from M.N. Vidyashankar on Friday.

Mr. Shankarlinge Gowda said that he would focus on improving infrastructure in the city. The new commissioner has a tough task of ensuring that the layouts in the city are prepared to handle the rains this year. Last year, many areas including Puttenahalli, parts of J.P. Nagar, Hosur Road, Mysore Road (near Rajarajeshwari Nagar arch), Mysore Road (near Ring Road junction), Pai Layout near K.R. Puram railway station and HSR Layout were badly affected. Rain flooded several colonies in these areas.

Site allotment

To a question whether allotments for the 20,000 sites in Arkavathy Layout would be completed by the month-end as promised by the previous commissioner, Mr. Shankarlinge Gowda said he needed to look into the files before commenting on it.
