Day 2, rain cools city
Deccan Herald

The City received a moderate rainfal of 1.9 mm on Wednesday evening.

The officials of the Met Department said the blazing temperature of 34.2 degree celsius during daytime caused the rainfall, that began at 5 pm.

Motorists had a tough time, as they struggled to ride over waterlogged, slippery roads. The traffic moved at a snail’s pace at several junctions across the City.

However, the BMP control room did not receive any complaints till We-dnesday night.

The officials said they were keeping a close watch and rescue equipment were kept ready for emergencies.

There were no reports of flooding, but a complaint was lodged about the rising water level in a storm water drain near Kamakya theatre.

Power supply was disrupted in Ramamurthy Nagar and JP Nagar due to trips in the feeders.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has predicted more rains in the coming days.
