HC seeks status report on high-rise structures

Bangalore: T aking strong objection to the violations in building by-laws in the City , Karnataka High Court has sought a status report on all the high-rise structures here.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy granted the Bangalore City Corporation three months time to the needful.

The direction was issued on a petition challenging a show-cause notice by the BCC to the owner of a bar and restaurant on MG Road.

Justice Reddy ordered the BCC to conduct a thorough inspection of all the high-rise buildings and submit a status report.

Plea dismissed: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday dismissed an election petition against sitting Khanapur MLA, Digambarrao Y eshwantrao Patil, saying there is no sufficient cause of action against him under the Representation of People’s Act.

The order was given by Justice P Vishwanath Shetty . The petition was filed by V aishali Ashok Patil of Janata Dal (United) who had lost to Patil in the election in 2004.
