`Decks will be cleared for Metro Rail'

BANGALORE: The decks will be cleared and all glitches overcome to get the much-awaited Metro Rail project on track, Union Minister of State for Planning M.V. Rajasekharan said here on Sunday.

After inaugurating the Suvarna Karnataka celebrations of the Karnataka Industries and Commerce Kannada Sangha Okkoota, Dr. Rajasekharan told presspersons that though all clearances and approvals ought to have come in by now and the Rs. 7,000-crore project to ease traffic in Bangalore should have taken off, there is some delay due to unforeseen developments. The then Urban Development Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has become Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, and the new incumbent, Jaipal Reddy, is yet to familiarise himself about the project. Besides, the project has to get clearances at other levels, he said.
