Awalk through this museum takes you on a voyage into the fascinating world of technology . The museum, a tribute to the brilliance of Sir M Visvesvaraya, one of the architec modern Karnataka, gives a visitor an idea o working models of different machines.

The Visvesvaraya Industrial and T echnological M useum, which was inaugurated in the year 1965, is a unit of the National Council of Scien M useums under the Ministry of Culture.

A comprehensive range of exhibits on various branches of science and technology can be seen at the museum.

Visitors, who have a vivid interest in science, ca work on some of the exhibits on display here.

The museum also holds seminars, demonstrations and film shows on scientific subjects from conducting hobby classes for children periodically .

Each floor of the museum is dedicated to a scientific discipline.The highlights of the museum are seven galleries namely the Engine Hall, Elec technic Gallery , Fun Science Gallery , Biotechnol Gallery , Space Gallery , BEL Hall of Electr Children Science Gallery and the Dinosaur corner . The museum even has an aircraft and a stea engine on display in its compound.

The Engine Hall has exhibits such as used engines of various automobiles, machines used industry , a jet aircraft engine and other mechani devices. The Electro T echnic Hall contains cal exhibits which work on the basic princi electricity , electronics and communication. Exhibits based on the sciences of sound, optics, f ids and perception are on display in a fun interesting manner at the Fun Science Hall.

While a visit to the Biotechnology gallery enlighten one on the happenings in the fiel Biotechnology , the exhibits in the Space Hall thr light on rocket science and the history of exploration.

The BEL Hall of Electronics explains the underlying principles of Electronics and their appl The Dinosaur Corner titled as ’Dinosaur Alive’ has a moving replica of a dinosaur .

"On an average, around 2,500 visitors come here," says K V Bhatta, director , Visvesvar Industrial and T echnological Museum.

"W e are coming out with an interesting tem rary exhibition on illusion which will expla things are perceived in different ways in nature," said while explaining about the upcoming add tions to the museum.

"This is mainly to keep the interest of the regula visitors alive," he added.

Located on the Kasturba Road, the museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm on all days.
