Bangalore: Higher and Secondary Education Minister Ramalinga Reddy has expressed concern over the increasing air pollution and rising population and has called for measures to bring down their levels.
Speaking at the campaign on air pollution Care for Air , organised by City-based NGO Eco W atch in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, T ransport Department and National Service Scheme, he said the City s population is likely to cross one crore by 2015. Considering this, we need to take steps to control vehicular and other pollution.
Bangalore: Asima Prathisthana, a City-based NGO, has come out with a unique guide in Kannada on the birds of Karnataka.
The book, Pakshi Prapancha , contains information on 160 species of birds in the State with their pictures.
The status of these birds, be it common, rare or endangered, is given in the book, said Harish R Bhat, the author. It is coauthored by bird-watcher Pramod S
