Bangalore: In the wake of the increasing complaints that autorickshaw drivers are being choosy of the places to go on hire, especially during night, the traffic police have decided to start four pre-paid auto counters run by them on MG Road (between Anil Kumble Circle and Brigade Road junction), near Commercial Street on Dickenson Road, Airport arrival area and Forum Mall on Hosur Lashkar Road.

According to DCP traffic (east) M A Saleem, the policemen will start pre-paid auto counters at Dickenson road near Commercial Street and Airport arrival area next week. Counters at MG Road and Forum mall will follow later.
Pre-paid auto counter on M G Road will be set up between Anil Kumble Circle and Brigade Road junction. All other existing auto points will be cancelled, Saleem said. Near Forum Mall, a counter at the existing auto stand will be established, he added. Complaints against auto drivers are increasing these days. They are refusing to go on hire during evening hours causing hardship to women and others. These counters will provide relief to such victims, the DCP explained.
