The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ordered issue of notice to the State government and Microsoft, on a public interest litigation questioning the implementation of the Bangalore One project.

The division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice B Padmaraj and Justice V Jagannathan passed the order on a petition filed by Bangalore-based Brashtachara Nirmoolana Vedike.

The petition stated that the Government had singed a memorandum of understanding with the Microsoft for assisting it in devising and developing the project, and later awarded the contract for implementing the project to the city municipal council computers.

The petitioner has questioned both the memorandum of understanding and the award of contract alleging that it was done arbitrarily and contrary to the provisions of the law.
