The peripheral ring road connecting Kengeri-Kanakapura may be thrown open for public on the Republic Day (Jan 26, 2006) if everything goes as planned.

Meanwhile, the work on the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) is gaining momentum. “About 95 per cent of the work on the 8.5 kilometre stretch has been completed,” a spokesperson of the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) which is implementing the project, said. The work on extension of the road (Gottigere-Bannerghatta stretch), Electronic City proposed Expressway and the linking of the Tumkur-Magadi-Mysore road were also moving fast, he said.

The government which was supposed to grant around 4,000 acres of land for this project, has granted 1,035 acres as of now.
