Official apathy rules here

A trip to Yelachenahalli on Kanakapura road is a good example of official apathy.
The road (if it can be called one) has more potholes than road. Only bravehearts can survive the three-km stretch where buses and lorries rule the road. Once you step into Yelachenahalli you will realise why the residents staged a protest against bad roads in the area on Friday.
Residents complain about the increasing accidents due to the bad state of roads. Thanks to bureaucratic ambiguity, and the blurred demarcation between the CMCs and BMP, many cannot comprehend whom to address their complaints to.
When contacted, Uttarahalli MLA R Ashok told Deccan Herald, “The 3-km stretch was declared a ‘national highway’ four years ago.
However, the PWD has shown no interest in its maintenance. Their usual explanation is that they cannot take up asphalting work because of shortage of funds.”
Doddarange Gowda, a hardware shop owner on Kanakapura road says, “It has been over 10 years since any asphalting took place on this road.”
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic west) W B Malgatti, a report on the worsening condition of Kanakpura road was sent to the BMP Commissioner a year ago by the police department, but there has been no follow-up.
