The north pavement of MG Road is again ablaze with activities, as Artiste Walkway with its carnival-like strip of stalls, has come up, reflecting the spirit of the Bangalore Habba.

The north pavement of MG Road is again ablaze with activities, as Artiste Walkway with its carnival-like strip of stalls, has come up, reflecting the spirit of the Bangalore Habba.

The pavement will house stalls with jewellery, home accessories, basketry, garments and accessories, modern art, paintings and the like for the next ten days between 11 am and 9 pm every day, where one can interact with artistes from various parts of the country, including Rajasthan and Kashmir. Students, folk artistes, art galleries, women non-governmental organisations are being given a platform wherein they can showcase their works and sell their products.

Some of the key participants include Kalamadyam, AWAKE, Sahai, Springs, JD College, Wigan and Leigh, among others.

Exciting activities like tarot card reading and caricatures are other highlights of this Walkway.

Adding fun

Day one saw several enthusiasts exploring the various art avenues. More colour was added to the festivities in the evening with artistes from Mandya performing ‘Pattada Kunitha’ with their drums.

Cricket, MES School Grounds, Jayanagar, 8 am to 6 pm.

Artistes’ Walkway, M G Road Boulevard, 11 am.

Adventure Sports, Sriyam, Palace Grounds, between Freeway 19 and Seesh Mahal, 11 am.

Art Espresso, Cafe Coffee Day outlets - Lavelle Road (4 pm), Cunningham Road (8 pm), Frazer Town (10 am)

Staging of play, ‘Pampabharata’ by Samudaya, Chitrakala Parishat, 6.30 pm.
