Will BMP keep its promise?

Will BMP keep its promise?
The New Indian Express

The mad monsoon pounded the city roads and made motoring a tough task. Though it exposed the inefficiency of the civic agency, the Government has assured that better roads would be made after the rainy season.

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) had asked for special funds from the Government to take up the works. The monsoon has receded and no work in the city is visible.

Apparently, the BMP has not received its regular grants, leave alone special grants.

“The civic body is taking up the works on war footing. Urgent works have been ordered to repair and strengthen the roads. The Commissioner K Jothiramalingam and his team have drawn out an action plan to improve Silver Jubilee Park Road immediately.

“The other works will commence from Monday and Karnataka Land Army has assured us that the works will be completed as per schedule.

“The Commissioner has also taken up a 4-day drive to fill the potholes. The work is going on in the nights. The potholes will be covered by November 23.

“Apart from that BMP is taking up repairs of K H Road, roads in Majestic and 100 ft road in Indiranagar will be given immediate attention.”

R Narayanaswamy, Mayor of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.
