Action against the building by-law violators will be in the descending order of violations. Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) officials on Thursday said that the action or demolitions will begin with buildings that have the highest percentage of deviations.

The decision on an orderly approach comes in the wake of the High Court’s call for an impartial and humane approach to the drive against violations. There is also an inkling that the BMP may get cracking in other areas like Indiranagar. While top-level officers maintained that Koramangala is the only area where a comprehensive survey is presently on, lower rung officers noted that surveys are likely in other areas too.

“We have taken note that zonal regulations are heavy in Indiranagar and Domlur because of the concentration of IT firms,” said a division-level officer.
