`Care for Air' campaign begins

BANGALORE: To create awareness among the people of Bangalore city about air pollution and its effects on health and environment, Eco Watch, a non-government organisation, has, in collaboration with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and other agencies, launched a "Care for Air" campaign.

Suresh Heblikar, Chairman, Eco Watch, has in a statement, said a series of programmes has been planned for high school and college students, teachers and autorickshaw drivers. Information charts, posters and manuals will be distributed to students. Workshops and film screening for students and teachers and bicycle rallies for the general public will be organised. Students will be exposed to the techniques of air quality monitoring, levels of pollution, ambient air quality and possible methods to reduce air pollution, he said.
